Blended Learning
Wikispaces
At Healesville Living and
Learning Centre we are using
a combination of in-class
and
online learning to provide
flexible delivery to
students. As a student in an
accredited
or pre-accredited course you
will have access to a
subject-specific Wikispace
designed to facilitate
real-time interaction
with your trainer and fellow
students. This conduit for shared
information and discussion
will enable 24 hour a day
access
to course materials and
resources whilst encouraging
the students to participate
in
a wider, shared learning
experience outside the conventional
classroom.

Broadband for Seniors
Broadband for Seniors is a
part of the wider Australian
Government initiative
“Making Ends Meet - Plan for
Older Australians, People
with Disabilities and
Carers”. The program aims to
provide older Australians
with access to computers and
the Internet via free
Internet kiosks, and to
support seniors to gain
confidence and build skills
in using new technology,
whilst addressing the issue
of older Australians feeling
isolated and “left behind”
in a
technological age. It also
aims to build community
participation and social
inclusion amongst
older Australians.
Participants will need to
book as there is a maximum
of two people per session.
Current membership is
required to participate but
each session is free. A
volunteer tutor will be
present to assist at all
times. Contact the Centre.
