Committee of Management Profiles

  Janet Goodwin - President
Janet has a long association with the Centre, both as a Volunteer and a teacher. She is a carer by profession, and an experienced fundraiser for the Centre. Janet has served on the Committee of Management for seven years. For four of those years she has held the position of President. Janet is retiring as President this year and we thank her for her service.
  Ken White - Vice President
Ken has been described as a ‘Jack of All Trades”, having had many careers in his life, but the past few years has seen him combine his love for music with teaching young people in VCAL. Ken is a well-known and acclaimed musician whose involvement in community work over the last thirty years has seen him receive a State Government award for his services.
Ken has been a member of the Committee for over six years and has held several executive positions. He has a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
  Kathleen Cameron - Secretary

Kathy was previously a founding member of the Toolangi Neighbourhood House and now she facilitates our Beginners Tennis group and occasional workshops - all as a volunteer. Kathy would like to encourage other people to join the Committee of Management, “to see first-hand what a dynamic organisation the Healesville Living and Learning Centre is”.

Kathy has been a committee member for over four years. This is her first year as Secretary.
Kevin Morcombe - Public Officer and Treasurer
Kevin is a retired Primary School Principal with over five years of service on the Committee of Management. In addition to giving his time on the Committee, Kevin volunteers his assistance to maintain the Centre gardens and to support the Op-Shop with transportation.
  Sharolyn Devitt - Ordinary Member
Sharolyn began her association with the Centre as a horticulture student and then volunteered to maintain the garden. This role saw her supervising other volunteers. She has taken advantage of the many professional development opportunities that the Centre offers it’s Committee members, and has completed a Certificate II in Retail Supervision.
Sharolyn has served on the Committee of Management for fourteen years, many of those as Secretary. She has also managed the East End Opportunity Shop for the last seven years.
  Jane Jones - Ordinary Member
Jane Jones came “home” seven years ago and settled in Healesville. After having been a translator, English teacher and editor in The Netherlands, she became involved in retail and loves it. Her induction into the Committee of Management of the Healesville Living and Learning Centre provided her with an opportunity to give a little back to a community in which she is very happy.
Jane has been a member of the Committee of Management for eighteen months.

Denise Casey - Ordinary Member

Denise has many years experience serving on community  Committee’s of Management in the City of Manningham. She came to Healesville in 1998 to open a B&B, worked with the Tourism Association Committee for seven years and in 1999 joined the patchwork and quilting group at Healesville Living and Learning Centre.

Denise was invited to join the Committee in October 2009 and is enjoying learning about Living and Learning Centres and how they contribute to their communities.

Marjie Endacott - Ordinary Member
Marjie was a qualified ladies hairdresser, and later, a floor lady in the clothing manufacturing industry before she came to the Living and Learning Centre twenty years ago. She became the volunteer leader of the Fitness Walking Group, and she continues to run the group to this day. Marjie estimates having led her walkers over a distance approaching ten thousand kilometres since the group started. In 2002 she was made a Life Member of the Centre, and in 2009 she joined the Committee of Management.
Marjie is married with two children and five grandchildren.
